Recap Of One Mo’ Chance Season 2 Episode Three: “Say My Name, Say My Name”
Okay, Chance fans, let’s get into One Mo’ Chance Season 2, Episode Three, “Say My Name, Say My Name,” on the Zeus Network. We are finally getting to the naming ceremony—but not before more drama with Rollie and the sisters! I’ll share my overall thoughts at the end, but first, a warning: spoilers ahead!
Episode Three: “Say My Name, Say My Name”
Ready? Let’s get started!
The episode picks up where we left off, with Rollie Pollie Snack Mealz throwing things toward Gabriella and Maria in the kitchen. She picks up a chair, but security intervenes before she can throw it.
Maria says Rollie also threw a candle at her. Gabriella is upset because she says the candle was aimed in her direction too.
Rollie says the sisters were talking about her son, but we don’t hear that comment in the scene shown. That doesn’t establish whether it happened—it means I can’t confirm her account from what we see.
Either way, throwing a candle or trying to throw a chair is dangerous. Being angry doesn’t make everybody else in the room fair game.
The sisters want Rollie gone. They head outside with Yodela and complain about being in the house with her.
Yodela questions whether Chance will want to be with any of the women after all this behavior.
What do you guys think? How does this group compare with the women from Season One?
The Arguments Continue Outside
Meanwhile, Rollie is outside with some of the other women. Charisse thinks all the fighting is crazy, and I agree.
Based on what Rollie told her, Charisse understands why she was upset. In Charisse’s opinion, talking about somebody’s child is worse than Rollie’s “Botox p***y” insult.
That insult is still making the rounds, yawl.
Switch…
Yodela is still with Gabriella and Maria, and she disputes Rollie’s account of the alleged comment about her son.
Now we have different versions of the story, but no clear confirmation of what was said.
Then Gabriella and Maria start insulting Rollie’s body and making claims about her hygiene.
This is where they lose me again. You can criticize somebody’s behavior without turning her body into the punch line.
I still don’t agree with Rollie throwing things, but these comments aren’t making the sisters look any better.
Gabriella makes comments about her own vagina, while Maria makes a degrading claim about Rollie’s ability to clean herself.
We do not need this conversation.
I hate when an argument turns into claims about another woman’s vaginal hygiene. What does that have to do with the actual disagreement?
It’s a low blow, and it drags the conversation somewhere nobody can meaningfully defend themselves.
Yodela laughing along doesn’t make it any cuter. Girl, you can disagree with Rollie without joining in on that.
Not cute. Let’s move on.
Nadia Questions Rollie—and Sonya Chimes In
Switch…
Rollie tells Nadia she wasn’t there and shouldn’t be commenting on the incident. Nadia continues questioning her behavior.
Sonya, who is sitting between them, says she doesn’t want to be caught in the middle if things turn physical. Then she moves and tells Rollie to “go on and knock the f**k out of her.”
Sonya, moving out of the way is one thing. Encouraging another fight is not helping!
Can we get through one conversation without somebody suggesting a fight?
Later That Night…
The women have changed clothes, and Rollie is sitting outside with Tokyo and Stormi.
Surprise, surprise: Rollie has lost her voice.
After all that yelling, I can understand why.
Sonya and Meeko join them, and the conversation turns back to Gabriella and Maria.
Sigh.
I’m sick of these women talking about each other. They don’t focus on Chance half as much as they focus on the competition, and it is exhausting.
If you’re here to get to know this man, when are you planning to do that? Between arguments? After the next security intervention?
Stormi says she isn’t into the fighting, and neither am I. I’m not a fighter, and if my focus is on getting to know somebody, I don’t want to spend all my energy worrying about everybody else.
Tokyo says she doesn’t like that Chance’s first impression of her might be that she is a fighter.
But then she says she still wants to beat up the sisters for throwing things at her.
I understand being upset about getting hit, but how are you going to change that first impression if the plan is another fight?
Make it make sense, sis.
The Naming Ceremony Finally Begins
The women line up on the stairs while Chance and Micah discuss the upcoming ceremony.
Micah questions Chance’s selection of women. Chance already seems frustrated with the group, and we are only on Episode Three.
Well, damn.
Chance appears increasingly tipsy as the ceremony goes on, and his patience with the women’s objections seems to get shorter.
We waited all this time for the names, and now he is getting irritated when somebody doesn’t like hers.
But finally, it is time. Let’s see what he comes up with.
Dani Becomes Danii Dashian
Dani still doesn’t know much about Chance—not even his real name. But Chance seems impressed with her appearance and names her Danii Dashian.
Girl, you came to date this man. A little homework wouldn’t hurt!
Diamond Becomes Shyne
Chance asks Diamond whether she is a stripper, and she says she is a dancer.
He questions whether he could take a stripper home to meet his mother, and Diamond starts defending herself.
Chance, you invited her here. Why turn her occupation into a lecture now?
He gets annoyed at being interrupted while talking about his mama.
Then he asks whether Diamond likes to smoke and suggests calling her “Bleezy.”
Diamond objects. She says she had a goldfish named Bleezy.
Well, that is a very specific reason, lol.
Chance changes the name to Shyne. When she starts to respond, he declares, “Shyne it is!” and sends her back.
Apparently, this naming process has a very short appeals window.
Gabriella and Maria Become Biggie and Smallz
Chance calls the sisters forward with, “Come forward, double up.”
Gabriella tells him they made up a dance for him. They say a rhyme and bend over so he can “slap their buns.”
I have to admit, it was different.
Chance joins in and says he likes their dance. Then he decides on their names: Gabriella becomes Biggie, and Maria becomes Smallz.
Gabriella objects because she doesn’t consider herself fat.
She doesn’t seem thrilled with the choice, but Biggie and Smallz are the names he gives them.
Sashanna Becomes Slim
Sashanna is next. Chance makes a comment about her needing to eat, which is unnecessary.
He names her Slim, and she takes the name in stride.
At least this part doesn’t turn into another argument.
Louisa Becomes Baybi Ruth
We learn that Louisa has three children and that her oldest is twenty-three.
Chance names her Baybi Ruth.
Louisa continues to bring a much calmer energy than some of the other women, and I appreciate that.
Stoney Becomes Skittlz
Stoney comes forward with her colorful hair. She says she is the biggest hairstylist out of New York City.
Well, that explains the wigs!
Unlike Danii Dashian, she knows about Chance and says she is genuinely there for him.
He names her Skittlz, and she tells him he can taste the rainbow tonight.
Well, all right, then!
Tokyo Becomes Wap Wap
Chance initially calls Tokyo “Pumkin,” and she immediately lets him know she doesn’t like that name.
When he asks what she does, she says she sponsors the “WAP community.”
Whatever in the heck that means.
Her name becomes Wap Wap.
Nadia Becomes Smilez
Nadia looks cute in her animal-print dress and glasses.
Chance admires her figure and her smile, and we learn she is from Milan.
He names her Smilez.
Dominique Becomes Brown Suga
Dominique tells Chance she can cook, clean, and take care of him.
Chance and Micah seem pleased with that answer.
He names her Brown Suga, and she also lets him smack her behind.
This ceremony certainly has a theme.
Charisse Becomes Bad & Bougie
Charisse sashays forward in a fitted pink dress.
Chance jokes that he can’t tell whether she has a bad ankle or whether that is her sexy walk.
Lol. This man.
Charisse says she is thirty-three and from Trinidad. She looks good in her dress.
She gives Chance a sample of her singing, but it’s a no for me.
Her name becomes Bad & Bougie.
Khadijah Becomes Soulja Girl
Khadijah comes forward and bends over to show Chance her behind.
Micah points out that he can see more than that, and she tells him to close his eyes.
Lol.
We learn that she was in the Army, and Chance names her Soulja Girl.
Stormi Becomes Fluffy
Chance comes for Stormi’s hair AGAIN, and I don’t like it.
As a Black man with textured hair himself, why does he keep making her natural hair the joke?
Since moving down South, I finally decided to wear my own hair naturally. In my experience, some Black men have been more encouraging about perms, weaves, and straight wigs than about the hair growing out of my head.
That is why this particular joke gets on my nerves. Stormi being comfortable with her natural hair is not something she should have to defend all night.
Chance, you can have preferences without insulting somebody. She has already told you she doesn’t find it funny. Let it go.
Stormi says she is in a metal band, but when Chance asks her to sing, she doesn’t perform.
He names her Fluffy.
So, Stormi is now Fluffy—but my opinion has not changed. Girl, I love your confidence.
Rollie Keeps Her Name
When Chance calls for the next woman, Meeko starts to step forward. Rollie moves past her with an “excuse me” and takes the spot.
Meeko looks surprised, but Rollie tells her to go back toward the stairs.
Rollie cracks me up. She was not giving up that turn.
In the end, she keeps the name Rollie Pollie Snack Mealz.
Sonya and Meeko Become Gran Tee and Daugh Tee
Meeko finally gets her turn, but Chance calls Sonya forward too.
Sonya says she is fifty-nine, and Micah tells her she looks good.
Go ahead, Mama Sonya! We can respect an older woman continuing to put herself out there for love.
Micah isn’t convinced she and Chance are a match, though, and I don’t really see the connection either.
Meeko gives Chance a rose quartz crystal, which she says represents unconditional love.
Chance names Sonya Gran Tee and Meeko Daugh Tee.
Cute.
Rosie Becomes Bombshell
Rosie says she is twenty-three and from Colombia.
Chance wants to call her “Flat Back,” and she refuses.
Good for you, Rosie. You can participate in the naming ceremony without agreeing to every insult.
He settles on Bombshell, tying it to Micah’s bathroom joke, but then says he will still call her “Flat Back.”
Chance, she already said no. Why keep pushing it?
Yodela Keeps Her Name
Yodela keeps her name and looks pretty in her pink dress. She says she had her teeth done.
As for the new smile, I’ll leave that alone. Let’s move on.
The Elimination
After the naming ceremony, Chance and Micah discuss the women.
Chance says he tried something different this season, but he already seems to have doubts about his choices.
Well, YOU PICKED THEM.
Micah isn’t impressed with some of the attitudes, and Chance questions whether women who object to his names should even be there.
But giving somebody a nickname doesn’t mean she has to accept being insulted. There is a difference.
Micah says Chance seems to know what he wants when it comes to lust but not necessarily when it comes to love.
We are confused too, Micah.
At this point, Micah sounds ready to send the whole group home.
Lol. What a start to the season.
Once the women gather for elimination, Chance addresses their behavior.
He tells Rollie she has been out of control, and Micah asks why she got so upset.
Rollie alleges that the sisters said, “F**k my son.” Chance then addresses Biggie and Smallz’s behavior too.
There is plenty to discuss, but eventually it is time to find out who is staying.
Chance Fakes Out Yodela
Chance calls Yodela forward and questions whether she is really there for him. She looks unwell, and for a moment, he makes it seem as though he is sending her home.
Smallz gets upset because Yodela is her friend.
Girl, I understand liking somebody, but this is still a competition!
Then Chance reveals the fake-out and gives Yodela her hat. She is staying.
Feel better, Yodela.
Baybi Ruth Goes Home
In the end, Louisa—now named Baybi Ruth—is eliminated.
I liked her calmer energy, so I’m sorry to see her go. She takes the decision in stride, and I wish her the best.
We will have to see what happens next episode.
My Overall Thoughts
We finally got the names! After all that waiting, at least we now know what Chance will be calling everybody.
Some of the names were playful. Others felt like excuses to keep making jokes the women had already said they didn’t like.
Bombshell standing up for herself was a highlight for me. Fluffy holding her ground about her hair was another. Being on a dating show doesn’t mean you have to laugh at everything the man says.
I’m also ready for the Rollie-versus-the-sisters drama to stop swallowing the entire show. I like Rollie, but liking her doesn’t mean I have to agree with throwing things or treat every allegation as proven.
And Chance, if you are already questioning the whole group, remember: YOU PICKED THEM.
I’m sorry to see Baybi Ruth go. Her quieter approach was a welcome break from all the yelling.
Now that the naming ceremony is over, can we spend some time finding out who actually connects with Chance?
Thanks for rocking with me. I do this for the people who want an in-depth recap from a real fan. Muah!
Which name was your favorite, which one would you have refused, and did Chance send the right woman home?
What are your thoughts?
